Krithiga ki Kahaniya

Dear all,
Books are my best friends.. be it a text book, a fiction or a non-fiction I cherish reading them. Over a period of years I have developed an interest in writing short stories for Children.

I am indebted to explain to you why children are my target audience?
I feels it is easy to communicate messages to the children than to the elders. Though I have not published my stories so far I have told few of my stories to some kids and got a positive feedback. Now I have decided to post some short stories in my blog effectively from 15th feb '10 onwards.

Most of my stories are real life experiences- either mine or my friend's or it used to be based on some real events.

The very thought of posting short stories itself makes me feel thrilled. At the same time it is this passion of mine that gives me happiness and strength to go further..

See you shortly with Krithiga ki kahaniya...
Regards
Krithiga

Am proud of being born a girl………..

I have never seen my amma eating delicious fruits when we used to have baskets filled at home.. I usually take a good number followed by my dad and brother (because he does not like fruits much)..Amma will always offer me the best of the best Bananas keeping the least ones for herself..I have never given a thought about it. She always takes food after all of us at home..She is very particular about the nutrition content of the food and the amount we consume.. She knows how many Idli’s, dosa’s, Chappathi’s or Poori’s each of us will eat..She knows what we like and what we don’t like..

Everyday amma will enquire about how it went on in school, college or office .. As soon as I reach home she will give me all that I need on earth with so much of care and affection..I will be lost in her..She will sit besides me to say what she did the whole day, what dad told her, what neighbours told, what paati told and some gossips too..She will never forget to ask what I did in office and about my colleagues.. She spends more than an hour talking all these..Sometimes I used to be hard on her telling ‘Why do you ask so many questions, leave me free for sometime and do your work’, but today I have realized ‘What great work she can have when I am her world’.. ‘What will make her feel happy except my presence at home and having a good chat with her’.. Now, I have somehow realized that she is the only one who loves me more than anybody else in this world..Her love towards me is boundless..I know..I can neither pay her back for this nor will she expect me to pay back..

Every Thursday or Friday she will make it a point to call my brother and me to ask if we will be coming home for the weekend.. I will always sense the feeling of disappointment from her tone if I say I cannot make a visit..Not always she will express her disappointment explicitly as she knows how important is my studies and work in shaping my career..

This is not just pertaining to my mother..but all of our mother's..they are simply great..

I hope someday I will also get into her shoes and remain in the giving end throughout my life..

Am proud of being born a girl………..

Can anybody talk anything? - pertaining to Mr.Prahlad Kakkar's speech

Hi friends,
My first 2 blogs were about alcoholism... now its about the freedom of speech...
Can anybody talk anything?
If no.. then there is no freedom of speech...
If yes.. then there is no restriction for the usage of unparlimentary language and controversial words...

I do agree.. there is freedom of speech.. but till what degree matters..
Only till you don't disturb or hurt the feelings of the audience you have the freedom of speech..

I would like to substantiate my point...
Today 28th April,09' I happen to listen to the speech of the so called 'ad guru' Mr.Prahlad Kakkar who has made several ads for pepsi, amul, P&G and so on...

Throughout his talk he was using words like 'shit', 'loo', 'Toilet', 'full bladder', 'Toilet tissues' and so on.... He left the audience embarassed.. I felt very bad, very very bad for sitting there...
Though I did not like the way he spoke I was waiting to learn something out of his speech.. That was the biggest mistake in my life I think.. As time passed he kept using the word 'shit' so very often that too in a very organised gathering (B school)..

Anything he wants to demonstrate he will see to that 'S' word or any other equivalent to it is used... The most horrible part was that some of the students did enjoy all the nasty jokes and acknowledged it by laughing so loudly...

I felt like giving the 'ad guru' left and right.. I didn't do it as I knew what will be the consequence I have to face... But am not going to leave it like that... I will surely mail him and criticise for his unethical language...

I have a big question haunting me...
Can celebrities speak anything they want without bothering about the audience...
Recently Varun Gandhi, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi were doing the same in a little different way...
I accept...the world is not without unparlimentary languages.. we hear it in our day-to-day life... in the bus we travel, in streets, verbal abuse of drunkards and so on...

But my question is... Should we(educated people) also use such words... should we harm our dignity ourselves...
What a kind of plessure we get in talking so?... Who will respect us for it?..

I don't have any kind of respect for the speaker, the so called 'ad guru'...
Though there were some interesting facts in his speech.. his vulgour jokes were the highlight...

I desperately walked out after half an hour or so... What else I can do..
At that time I did not know if it is apt for me to question his attitude...

I agree that the use of vulgour words are not uncommon even in books...
Have u read Arundhati Roy's 'God of small things' and Kiran Desai's 'The inheritance of loss'( both booker prize winning books)? These books are of no exception...
Many modern authors have a passion towards using vulgour language just to attract youngsters like us...

So please do not harm your dignity by using such language...
Never encourage others nor show interest when others talk nasty language..
Question then and there if its apt...
If our friend is doing it... please educate him...

Change the world around you...

Alcoholists are cowards

Hello friends,
Thanks for your comments and criticisms for my previous post and I intend to write more on alcohol...
You know?
In Germany around 2000 young girls in the age group of 10-20 yrs were admitted in the hospitals due to alcohol induced coma... And how many boys? Don't ask me.. Guess..
Alcohol induced coma is a condition created due to the overconsumption of alcohol..
Till 25 years of age our brain is in the development stage and hence youngsters are prone to this kind of coma..
Coma also occurs due to the fact that youngsters are exposed to excess alcohol all of a sudden at a go..

I don't intend to say "Dear youngsters Don't take alcohol, it will spoil you and your brain"

I am here to say... Alcohol is a weapon in enemy's hands.. It can only hurt you or kill you.. never expect it to give you any kind of happiness in life expect for the momentary plessure (that drunkards claim to get)

'Why do you drink?' - I asked a drunkard
I want to forget my worries - he replied
Ask one question to yourself?
Why am I here on this earth?
Answers I got from friends - To take good care of my mother/parents/wife/children/grand parents or to realise higher self-actualization goals and so....

When You forget yourself where from you will take care of your parents or realise your goals?

Tough truth to digest...
Drunkards are cowards
They are scared to face reality and want to hide themselves under a alcohol cover...
I say once again - alcoholists are cowards for the fact that they look for an option to forget worries and wordly affairs...
Do you agree with me?

With regards,
Krithiga

Is it right or wrong

Dear friends,
Have anybody thought why people drink or smoke or go to disco....

My friend said...
1. It is not wrong at all to drink or smoke, but extremely wrong to make it a habit.
2. Every guy is tempted to drink and smoke as it gives a kick.. if you know what i mean..

Another friend said..
1. Absolutely right... after all its his personal life.. Got every right to live as one wishes...

If you would like to have a life partner drinking, smoking, going to disco, cracking bad jokes and watching bad movies?
If the answer is
Yes... I would like to... then don't read further...
No.. I would not marry such a person.. Please read further..

1. Habit or occasionally drinking whatever it is wrong... don't get fooled by saying no... A drunkard can sometimes be successful in his career... but cannot be happy either in his profession or personal life... i have seen many cases like tat..

2. What guys need?.... Will we accept if our mothers are doing it... just for kick.. Today there are ladies working in corporates- equally paid, handling equal pressure, equal responsibilities in the organizations and family...
Single women bringing up their children alone fighting throughout their life tons and tons of pressure you so called guys might think off...

What will happen if mothers start drinking, fathers start drinking, brothers start drinking... house will become bar.. will need to stock brandy and whisky instead of rice and wheat...

Street to street there will be bars, clubs, dirty dances just for need a kick guys instead of grocery shops...

Think in the long run... if you are a person concerned about your well-being alone... then you will not realize the seriousness of the problem...

Your friends will follow you...
Your colleagues will take you as an example...
Your son might take you as a role model...

Future of India? Yes it lies in the hands of younger generation... Where are the younger generation?... In the bars, clubs, discos.....

Life is not simply enjoyment... How one lives matters...

hardships, threats, failures, risks and uncertainties are not only there for todays IT professionals who are loosing jobs with a big question mark about the future...

hardships, threats, failures, risks and uncertainties are not only for managers in finance in this period of recession...

Our ancestors have faced lots and lots of struggles and pressures than we could imagine... Have you heard of stories about emperors who failed miserably because of bad habits? I know plenty of tales.. When it is true for emperors it is true for you and me...

One day we will be living in a world without values, without trust, without love, with nothing to support human life...

One day the earth will come to a halt.. not because of natural calamities... but because there is only human animals living in it...
